The vase is finely potted in earthenware in a globular form with a waisted neck, square top rim and splayed foot. It is richly decorated with two detailed panels bordered by intricate honeycomb-style designs in warm polychrome tones. Each scene captures a traditional Japanese landscape, with elegant bijin and children surrounded by blossoming foliage, birds and classical buildings, painted with delicate brushwork and vibrant detail. Signed Fuzan 普山 to the base, with remnants of the original retail label, this Satsuma vase dates to the Meiji Period (1868-1912) and remains a fine example of decorative Japanese ceramics from the late 19th to early 20th century.
