Description Chlorophytum orchidantheroides – Spider Plant ‘Green Orange’, native to the subtropical parts of Southern and Western Africa. They became a popular houseplant due to their beautiful foliage. Starting orange at the base of the stems and transitioning to a lovely bright green color up the leaves makes this plant unique and pretty. They like to be well watered, keeping the soil moist throughout the growing season, with less water in winter. They store water in their roots so they are okay during periods of drought. Bright indirect light is best but no direct sunlight as this can burn the leaves. They will tolerate some shade but this could slow their growth. To keep them healthy and strong it’s recommended to fertilize them once a month during the spring and summer seasons. They bloom white flowers but they only last about a week, so it’s best to trim off the spikes after they bloom unless you’d like to collect the seeds to propagate them. An easy to grow, and care for plant perfect to add to your plant collection. FAMILY: Asparagaceae ORIGIN: South Africa TYPE/USES: Houseplant MATURE SIZE: Up to 2 feet tall LIGHT REQUIREMENTS: Bright indirect light WATER REQUIREMENTS: Average TEMPERATURE: 70-90 degrees F.
